A special note
A little over a year ago I was walking my dogs on the beach on a gorgeous Friday afternoon (like seriously, picture the most idyllic setting) when my phone started dinging like crazy with notifications. All of my coworkers are frantic about something but I’m not sure what it is until I check my email– effective immediately our office was shutting down and we were all without jobs. We were all completely blindsided. I promise I’m not saying this as some weird flex but my first thought was about all of the clients I had on my schedule for the next week- I mean I had to see them, we were in the middle of care plans and testing and trying to figure out how nutrition plans could help them feel better!
It took hours to process the news that the clinic was over, but once I did there were a lot of tears and mom hugs (thanks mom!) and figuring out my next steps. Which brings me to the point of this, today is the one year anniversary of Well Fed Wellness, aka my heart and soul that came after years of learning from and working with other clinics but being ready to strike out and create something brand new.
It’s been an amazing year, and mostly a roller coaster ride, but I am forever grateful for the community we’ve built together, the ability to really solidify what I believe good nutrition care should look like, and to be able to live out a brand that is essentially a piece of my soul.
These core beliefs define how I work and how Well Fed Wellness operates:
Everyone is an individual and deserves to be treated as such— no cookie-cutter protocols or generic advice here
You are the expert of your own body and we need to respect that and re-establish a good relationship with it
I don’t want to hear that you were “perfect”- tell me all the messy details; that’s where the good stuff is
I will listen to you and believe in your story
We can get you feeling better with nourishing foods and a sustainable environment
So today we are celebrating, enjoying a good meal, maybe making a birthday cake? and reflecting on the past year of growth while planning for many more to come. Thanks everyone.
